Dear Friends,
Amid the ramping down imposed by the Global pandemic COVID-19, we are witnessing a devastating natural disaster in Uvira region where from April 17th to 29th, flooding have claimed more than 45 lives mostly women and children, have left 75,000 people homeless, and destroyed the only existing water plant in a region of 200,000 people, leaving a free way to waterborne diseases. We fear that besides waterborne diseases, there is a high probability of increased contamination with COVID-19 in a region with neither running water nor adequate medical infrastructures.
Objective
After a need assessment Charity for All and Development in Africa (CADA), NGO, would like to assist the most vulnerable population in helping them to meet the most basic need such as clean water, food and non-food Items, and paying hospitalization bills for more than 75 hospitalized victims of the flooding.
Action implementation:
For the implementation we have identified the following actions as our priority:
– Raising funds from people of good will and from our organization’s members in order to assist the afflicted families in respect to our organization mission.
– Securing and distributing water purifier (Aquatabs) to all the people in Uvira.
– Collecting slightly-worn to new shoes for the school children of Uvira and others in need.
– Constructing and running temporary shelters for children, elderly, who do not have anywhere to live.
As a front line organization CADA needs your help in order to alleviate the plight of the affected population. Your contribution can save lives.
