Charity for All and Development for Africa’s mission is to improve living conditions of vulnerable people. Our commitment is to give them hope and capacity to retain control of their destiny, by ensuring their autonomy and dignity.
We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to improve the living conditions of vulnerable people in Africa. These vulnerable people are widows in critical situations, clinically ill, victims of natural disasters or disasters caused be mankind, refugees, unattended children, homeless individuals, displaced persons, repatriate persons, and other underserved populations.
Charity for All and Development for Africa is a strong advocate for children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The primary way we do this is by having a $10 per month child sponsorship program. Under no circumstances will there be any relationships between sponsored children and the board of directors.
Charity for All and Development for Africa desires to work with the neediest and most vulnerable children we can reach with our sponsorship program. All registered children are selected based on objective criteria that establish their need and their ability to benefit from the program. We use the following criteria to determine eligibility:
• Low family income and low family assets
• Chronic illness and/or malnutrition
• Inability to attend school or progress in school
• Hearing impaired, physically impaired, or mentally impaired
• Orphaned, abandoned, or exploited
• Under 18 years old
• Evidence that the child is likely to be non-transient and stable within the community
Every child is given the opportunity to develop spiritually, mentally, emotionally, economically, socially, and physically. Children and parents agree to maintain acceptable levels of school attendance in order to maintain sponsorship. We provide for children in a variety of ways including:
• Education- Part of the funds will be used for the cost of Christian school fees, clothing, and supplies. In some cases, it means providing tutoring, help with homework, encouragement and, if necessary, participation in a literacy program outside the classroom. Children learn a vocation that can later provide them employment.
• Health- Children are taught about hygiene, how to maintain personal health; care is given as needed.
• Food- Charity for All and Development for Africa provides children with supplementary food and water when needed.
A child sponsorship may be discontinued for several reasons. Most often, this happens because the child simply reaches the maximum age of the country public education. Although we make every effort to keep children in Charity for All and Development for Africa sponsorship program until completion of their education, there are times when a child leaves the program early. This can happen when suitable learning activities cannot be provided; the child has a poor attendance record; a child’s parents decide that they no longer want their child in the program; a child’s home situation improves; a child begins employment and therefore cannot meet the education attendance expectations.
